3-day workshop for K-12 special education teachers, content teachers, and instructional coaches. Participants will work with tools provided by the Literacy Design Collaborative and Achieve the Core to strengthen their understanding of the reading-writing connection. They will utilize resources to craft engaging and standards-aligned writing tasks, focus on purposeful sequencing of assignments, and create plans for writing evaluation and effective feedback.
Virtual and face-to-face support will be offered during the semester. On the final workshop day (May 2), teachers will evaluate their writing prompts and representative student culminating task writing samples/presentations. They will then revise or add to their projects for further student success.
