Deckard
Laney Deckard serves as a Migrant Recruitment Specialist and Advocate for the Central Region with GRREC in Bowling Green, Kentucky. In this role, she determines eligibility for migrant education services, works with schools and community partners to decrease barriers to education, and provides direct instructional services to eligible students.
Laney has ten years of experience with the Central Region Migrant Education Program and four years of teaching experience at Glasgow High School. She received her Master of Arts in Spanish from the University of Louisville and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Western Kentucky University. She has been fortunate to study abroad in Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, and Brazil.
Laney is committed to equitable access to education for all and is passionate about promoting parent involvement.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and being outdoors.
